Rebecca's Design Notes:
The owners of this contemporary home redecorate every 10-12 years, and were ready for an update. They were both attracted to the sage green family and love reds, and were ready to replace a lot of furniture, but were reluctant to replace their expensive rugs. Thus, my design challenge was to balance a new palette with the old. I mirrored the reds and greens from the rug.

This used to be a screened porch which was torn off and rebuilt as a sitting and game room. The owners are avid collectors, and many of the small scupltures were done by his mother. We kept the walls, floors and wood tones neutral, had the Knoll sofa upholstered in a black fabric with subtle splashes of color, and let the neutrals showcase their books and collections of arts and crafts. |

This shows the multi-colored stains and the inlaid game table, a bold and colorful painting, and a jewel-hued hand knit pillow, made by the client. This is the room where she does her knitting.
