Baths
Rebecca's Design Notes: As is the case in many newer homes, the rooms are large, and it is a challenge to create intimate personal space without over-furnishing. The other challenge is that builders default to stark white cabinetry and flooring, which is almost always in conflict with traditional furniture or antiques, which are much more harmonious with off-white or cream.  In this typical master bath we added a rug and a large ottoman…so comfortable for putting on stockings or socks and shoes.

Powder Room

This is perhaps my personal favorite of any room I’ve ever done! We found the hand-made vessel – chocolate on the outside, with metallic leaf randomly applied inside the bowl in variations of gold, copper, bronze and pewter. This was the beginning impetus for the room. The limestone is creamy with small chocolate flecks, and we decided to use the same material on the floor, the sink wall, and the counter. The brass fittings perfectly reflect the gold in the vessel, and my specialty painter repeated the metallics on the remaining three walls.

Master Bathroom

The natural cherry cabinets are custom-made to our specifications, and conceal some specific and detailed storage solutions. We even measured laundry baskets to ensure a clean and uncluttered space. The clients are avid collectors of arts and crafts and are delighted with the towers which allow for display. Replacing the plate glass mirror with framed natural cherry mirrors (from the cabinet maker) made this room warm and intimate.
